Our Royal Tara coasters are sold individually so you can mix and match between our many different patterns. This Scotland coaster features one big thistle in the center and a ring of smaller thistles around the outside. Legend has it that the thistle was adopted as the symbol of Scotland when an approaching Viking who had stepped on a thistle and cried out in agony. This alerted the sleeping Scottish warriors who duly defeated the invaders.
